Methven Cemetery

Features of Interest:

First burial - Benjamin Banting , 1891

Methven village created with the arrival of the long-promised CPR branch line



Rounthwaite Cemetery

Construction Date: 1882

Location: SW 23-8-18

Original Owner / Builder:

Features of Interest:

- Rounthwaite (officially Naughton) situated nearby in 1882 – relocated to be on the Wawanesa - Brandon RR line. St. John the Divine Anglican Church built here in 1882 – moved with the village – now in Wawanesa at the Sipiweske Museum

Patterson Family Cemetery

Former David Thompson Cairn

Construction Date: 1929

Location: Cliff Street

Features of Interest:

Unveiled by noted historian Dr. Stewart of Ninette

- Commemorated David Thompson’s work and travels in the region in 1897-98
-  located on ground that slumped as the cliff was undecut by the river
- plaque now placed in front of the Village Office, near the Sipiweske Museum
