Features:

- Plan #2 – Souris River Registry, March 28, 1882
 - 1883 R. Graham opened a store
- Post Office granted but the name “Manchester” was taken. Melita chosen from suggestions offered
 - with arrival of railway – station placed on 1-4-27 and town moved

Features: - tress and fruit-bearing species planted
 - intent was to determine what types of food and cover plants could be grown on poor quality land that would be of benefit to pheasants during the winter.
- an experiment in revegitation – after the drought of the thirties.
