W. Johnston
James
W. Johnston came to Manitoba from Newtonville, Ontario, on March 29th,
1882, and settled on section 32-1-17. Mrs. Johnston and
their three children, Robert, Lila and Lena, arrived the following
June. Three other children, Effie, John and Alex were born
here. Their nearest store was at Wakopa five miles away.
Mrs.
Johnston was a member of the municipal council for six years and a
trustee of the Jaques school district.
