Armstrong, John James

Biography: Born in London ON., Nov. 11 1853.. Married Amy Amelia Ward.
Claims: Former Telegraph Operator for the Grand Trunk Railway in Ontario, came to Carberry in 1892 and opened JJ. Armstrong & Co. flour and feed store.

Banister, Henry “Harry” Charles David



Biography: (1848 – 1898). Born in Wales. Married Amy Amelia Ward.
Claims: Road Master on CPR in Mb. 1880’s. In 1893 he came to Carberry and took over the Dufferin House Hotel. Mayor 1921-27First Director -  Carberry Rink Association 1921.Served on the Board for many years.

Banister, William Alfred

Biography:  Born in Newcastle New Brunswick (1875 – 1956). Married Florence Anna Carey (1878 – 1948) in 1898.
Claims: 1899 – took over the family hotel business (Dufferin House Hotel). Since 1912 he owned the Western Hotel, Ford Dealership, and Imperial oil in Carberry.

Henderson, John Belfrey



Biography: Born at Hollen, ON Jan. 22, 1859. Married Martha Ann Piesberry, 1884.. Died 1934.
Claims:  Homesteaded in 1878. Mammoth Dry Goods Emporium situated in the Henderson-Logan Block. Real Estate Dealer. Councillor 1890. Mayor 1891. Moved to Winnipeg in 1902.
