Description
The Virden Cafe Building is located centrally in an almost continuous row of brick-fronted buildings, most constructed in the 1890’s, that line the south side of Nelson Street, west of Seventh Avenue at the heart of Virden’s Heritage District.
Heritage Value
The Virden Cafe Building is valued as a representation of that classic prairie icon, the Chinese Restaurant. Through a succession of owners and various upgrades the building has retained its modest character and purpose.

Key elements that define the exterior heritage character of the Virden Cafe Building include:

- the typical rectangular form brick construction including the façade which follows the pattern set in Virden, with a modest corbel table, round-arched window treatment.
